How to Make the Most of After-School Programs: Our NY Guide

Monday, October 10th, 2022

After-school programs allow kids of all ages to develop healthy social relationships and to have fun with friends.  In fact, roughly 10.2 million children participate in after-school programs, with the number continuing to rise as parents work more hours.  We know that juggling between work and the kids’ schedule can be stressful, but we’re here to help.

One of the many reasons we’ve created an after-school program here in Westchester County (NY) is to foster socially-distanced physical fitness, as well as self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making.

While we know that a new after-school program may seem like a daunting task, we’ve made the process extremely easy.

While the exact dates/weeks that the program runs will vary from season to season, here’s what to expect:

  • Four (4) weekly 3-hour sessions.
  • Limited to ages 7+.
  • Makeups for weather will be available on Thursdays from 3:30 pm.
  • Access to courses one level above their “With Adult” level. See our courses page for more information.

You can learn more about the exact dates here: https://boundlessadventures.net/ny-park/after-school-program/

We have a “Limited Annual Membership” available after you’ve completed one of our after-school programs.  It offers some more perks and park access…but you’ll need to start in the after-school program first.

Why We LOVE After School Programs in NY (…and everywhere else)

We’ve seen and been told by parents/teachers/employees that the kids that take part in our programs grow both at home and on our courses.

From improved grades to new friendships, we’ve watched their confidence grow in so many aspects of life.

To make the most of our after-school programs we recommend talking with other parents from your children’s friend groups.  While we pride ourselves on growing relationships with children from all different classes and schools, having a friendly face or two never hurts!

Overall, the confidence boost we see after our climbers zip through the trees or complete an adventurous climb is incredible.  We see it in their daily interactions at the park and know that it helps them at home and in school.

The beauty of our after-school program here in Purchase NY is that we offer 11 different courses (that depend on the skill level of course) that can challenge even the most adventurous kids.  For those that want to build up some confidence first, we’ll then move them onto a “Motivation Course” later where they will traverse elements that include longer zip lines, ladders, and rolling elements.

At the end of the day, we think that spending 3-hours at one of New York’s top adventure parks is the perfect way for your children to continue to grow.

Make the Most of After-School Programs

We can’t wait to talk with you further about our after-school program that will provide some true adventure and learning for your kids.

We know that all after-school programs aren’t truly stimulating or about furthering growth…that’s why we built ours here in Purchase, New York.

We’ll see you in the trees!

Family Bonding in the Trees at Boundless Adventure

Friday, August 12th, 2022

Organizations use Ropes Courses to build confidence, improve communications skills and foster team-building. So it seems to reason a family could benefit from a day of conquering fears together.  Our family spent a day in the tree canopy at Bounldess Adventures solving challenges on their ropes course.  Boundless Adventures has 200-acre space in Bristol Woods in Kenosha, WI with over 100 rope bridges, 19 ziplines and 3 leaps of faith.

Like most families, ours has a range of comfort levels for outdoor adventure sports.  So traversing the obstacles at Boundless Adventures as a family definitely required good communication, trust and a bit of patience.   We all began together on a beginner course and coached each other along through each challenge.  As confidence grew some of our family advanced to more difficult courses, they offer beginner, intermediate, advanced and expert courses.  Some of our family preferred to stay on the beginner and intermediate course, however the layout of the courses allowed those not on the course to stand below and provide advice or words of inspiration to those above.

As a parent I enjoyed watching my kids choose to tackle obstacles in their own unique ways and then sharing their tips and advice to family members to follow.  Slowly, our family was figuring out and communicating to each other the best strategies to conquer each type of obstacle.  I didn’t realize it immediately, but thinking back, I am realizing the ability to communicate with each other and to coach each other through a challenge is a skill that will transfer well from the ropes course to life.

We spent three phone-free hours on the course, breathing in fresh air and the time flew by.  We worked up an appetite so we grabbed lunch nearby and enjoyed reminiscing on our favorite obstacles and our great family-friendly experience.

You might find yourself searching for the perfect outdoor team-building activities. There are some DIY options out there but sometimes you need to call in the professionals.

What you really need is a Boy Scout trip filled with fun, exciting, and challenging team-building activities! What you need is Boundless Adventures!

Our aerial adventure park is less than a one-hour drive from New York City and we have additional parks in Massachusetts and Wisconsin! With 11 courses that include over 110 bridges, 23 ziplines, and 4 leaps of faith, we’re one of the leading outdoor adventure parks in the Westchester County area.

Read why taking one of your boy scout trips to Boundless Adventures will help your cubs walk away with a lot more than a badge.

1. Conquer Their Fears

Our aerial adventure parks are filled with team-building activities outdoors- some will find them challenging and others will be eager to go to new heights! Literally!

But what is an aerial adventure park you ask? It’s a hybrid park, half high ropes courses, and half zipline park. Our courses are designed for beginners all the way to advanced experts.

For anyone, the first time ziplining or doing a ropes course can be filled with excitement but also fear. Conquering these obstacles with fellow cubs encourages the more timid boy scouts to conquer their fears!

Once they’ve completed their first zipline or rope obstacles, they’ll not only earn boy scouts badges, but they’ll also earn a whole new level of confidence.

An aerial adventure park is a perfect way for scouts to conquer their own fears while their teammates learn to encourage and help fellow scouts overcome fears.

2. Leadership

Every accomplished team has a strong leader. Our obstacle courses are a great place for boy scouts excited about leadership to flex their skills. Our ropes courses are filled with climbing, jumping, swinging, and balance tests.

Split your scouts up into teams and let them work together to overcome these obstacles. You’ll find born leaders on the teams stepping up to guide their fellow scouts across the courses. These leadership skills are applicable to all areas of life.

Whether a race for time or something bigger, our obstacle courses are a great place for scouts to learn leadership and communication.

3. Communication

Other than enjoying many hours of exhilarating fun, our outdoor team-building activities are the perfect environment for boy scouts to communicate!

Scouts will learn to communicate in the midst of the excitement, challenges, and competition. Take their survival skills to new levels!

Scouts will also learn how to advocate for themselves. Our courses vary in degrees of difficulty and are appropriate for ages seven and up, also depending on the scout’s height and fitness levels. With everything from picking a team to a course, scouts will learn to speak up when it feels right.

Outdoor Team Building Activities for Your Boy Scouts

While we know you have tasks and trips planned for countless different badges, we think we’re the perfect spot to help your Boy Scouts grow.  If you’re in the Westchester County Area (or MA/WI areas), we’d love to help scouts earn some new badges.

Our outdoor team-building activities are designed for all ages and fitness levels. Teach your boy scouts confidence, leadership, and communication in a thrilling park filled with never-ending fun!

Team Building Events for NY Businesses: The Benefits Your Team Will See

Tuesday, March 22nd, 2022

There is a buzz in the office. Can you feel it? People are smiling, chatting to each other, and taking a moment to share a cup of coffee and a snack.

It’s easy to chalk it up to a post-pandemic surge of happiness.  Regardless of the reason, it’s an incredible indicator of the way you need to make your employees feel.

Team bonding events are one of the best tools that employers have to drive staff happiness, satisfaction, and engagement.

As one of the leading adventure parks in the New York area, we’ve seen how the great outdoors can bring teams together.  In fact, we’ve had teams from all different industries visit our parks in NY, MA & WI.

So, let’s dive into the top three benefits of team bonding activities!

Team Building Events – The Top 3 Benefits

1. Discovering Hidden Skills and Talents

Something that you might not think about when it comes to a team bonding event is the possibility to unearth some hidden skills and talents. Think about this: How much do you really know about your employees?

Yes, you might see them most days in the office (or on a video call!), but can you say, for sure, that you know what they like, what they do outside work, and what they are great at?

A team-building event will let you find out just that. Perhaps, Mary from Sales is also an incredible and super-persuasive orator. Or, Jamal from Accounting is the funniest guy you have ever met.

Take note of what you discover through these events, as your staff’s hidden talents might also be very useful at work.

2. Enhancing Employee Mental Health

Promoting, celebrating, and safeguarding good mental health at work has finally been recognized as one of the top priorities for employers. Are you doing enough about it?

If not, put your thinking cap on and try to come up with some fun ideas for team bonding events. These activities, in fact, can do wonders for your staff’s mental health.

For example, organizing an outdoor event will allow you to combine the well-known restorative powers of nature with the social aspect that comes with team-building events. Both can greatly improve your employees’ mood and emotional well-being.

3. Improving Physical Health

Yes, not every single one of your employees will be a gym fanatic. Still, this shouldn’t discourage you from organizing a team bonding activity based on physical exercise.

The beauty of exercise is also its versatility. There is no need to train your staff for the next marathon! You can simply suggest a yoga session or something more energetic like a swimming course or visiting an exciting adventure park!

It can be useful to run a survey beforehand so that you can get a better feel for what your employees like and dislike. Based on that, you can decide which type of activity to organize.

Trust us: After one of these events, your team members will feel invigorated, rejuvenated, and full of energy!

Team Building Events to Boost Your Staff’s Productivity and Morale

If you are looking for fun, easy ways to enhance your employees’ morale while also boosting their productivity, team-building events are the answer.

With more than a dozen courses for all skill levels, we promise to challenge your teams and let them learn about themselves (and each other)!

Even if you’re looking for a team-building event in an area other than NY, MA or WI, we encourage you to look towards the great outdoors.

Ready for your team-building adventure? Take a look at the options that we offer here at Boundless Adventures!

School Field Trips in NY: 3 Reasons to Visit Your Local Adventure Park

Saturday, March 12th, 2022

Planning a field trip for your classes or school can seem like a daunting task.  Luckily, we already know the perfect spot for you to plan your next school field trip in New York.

Due to the global pandemic that started in 2020, the amount of school field trips has plummeted. But as it gradually comes to an end, schools are looking to get back to learning outside the classroom.

There are endless possibilities as to where you can go here in New York, but we have a special spot in mind.

While we know that pitching Boundless Adventures to those of you in the Purchase, NY & Westchester County areas is the perfect fit…we want you to fall in love with the idea of going to an Adventure Park.  We obviously hope you choose us, but if you can’t due to your location, we still want you to plan a killer field trip.

Here are the top 3 reasons you should consider an Adventure Park for your NY school field trip.

1. Active Thinking and Learning

They say that the best way to learn is by doing! We’re not sure there’s a better fit than an outdoor adventure for your students.

At our adventure parks, students get a mental workout by overcoming tough problems. They will be actively learning how to work out routes over bridges and avoid obstacles along the way. While you can talk through this in a classroom, there is nothing like truly learning in the moment!

Here, children get to think for themselves and develop different life skills.  This is easily your #1 selling point when planning your NY school field trip.

2. Health Benefits

Unfortunately, around 14.4 million kids aged 2 to 19 in the US suffer from obesity. School trips to adventure parks get kids moving and exercising in the fresh air of the outdoors. When kids experience the fun outdoor lifestyle, they will want to continue doing so in the future.

Our top-class adventure parks are lined with rope bridges, ziplines and obstacles for them to overcome. Kids get a physical workout without even noticing and have a blast doing it!

If you’re concerned that some kids may not be at the proper skill level, we, fortunately, offer different courses for every skill level. Younger students or first-timers will enjoy the beginner’s courses, while those more experienced can tackle bigger challenges.

At the end of the day, an outdoor experience is the perfect way for your students, or your school, to enjoy their school field trip.

3. Social Interactions

When children go on a school trip, they do a lot more talking and interacting with others. They will talk more with their teachers and meet with other adults working at our parks. More importantly, they will communicate more with their classmates and create more friendships.

With all of these interactions, this will massively improve their social skills. We think social interaction is very important, especially after all of the remote learning our students have experienced.

A day out at the adventure park brings that comfort and joy back into the school. It’s the same way professional sports teams or businesses go on team-building days.

Make the Most Out of Your NY School Field Trips

School field trips might be a small break from school, but they are not a break from education. A fun school trip to an adventure park comes with plenty of benefits, but the priority is always on their education and development for the children’s future.

Now you know the benefits of visiting an adventure park. So, all that’s left to do is book special school tickets for a park nearby.

As the premier Adventure Park in the Purchase, Westchester County, and the surrounding New York area we can’t wait to see you and your students in the trees!

Calming Your Nerves Before Ziplining: 5 Tips From Zipline Pros

Tuesday, February 22nd, 2022

Ziplining has literally taken off across the country with an estimated 400 zip lines to choose from here in the United States!

Here at Boundless Adventures, and across the US, zipline professionals utilize their ziplines 70 million times a year! That means countless safety briefings, adventures for visitors of all experience levels, and memories you’ll never forget.

It’s normal for you to be nervous before setting off on your first (or even a follow-up) zipline adventure.  You’ll have at least one weightless, freeing moment as you zip through the trees.

If you’re getting ready to visit an adventure park, here are five of our best ziplining tips to calm your nerves.

Trust The Zipline Park Experts

The guide at the zipline park isn’t simply clipping in your carabineers. They are experts in their field (especially here at Boundless Adventures) and they know what it takes to have a safe and fun day.
First of all, it is worth noting that the company came up with the idea of creating a collection of brands in different time periods of its activity. Therefore, a product of your brand can be received at the stage when it already exists and is actively sold branding sessions or at the time of preparation for its launch on the market. This is a significant impact, since the product and brand building are different processes and among themselves.

You may not love listening to safety briefings, but we promise it’s the best thing for everyone.  Our guides will explain how to safely wear your gear, enter and exit ramps and so much more.  You’ll feel at ease once your safety briefing is complete.

Remember: they’ve ziplined countless times down every course in the zipline park!

Trust The Equipment

While we can’t promise what every zipline park has to offer, we can promise that you get the best here at Boundless Adventures.  We offer a custom safety system that keeps you safe in the trees and on the ground.  Our zipline experts will explain how to properly wear and use the system.

We require that all of our guests wear gloves during their adventures.  If you have a pair you love, bring them with you! If you don’t we have pairs for sale on-site as well.

Know the Park You’re Visiting

We know that every park offers a different zipline and outdoor adventures.  All we can suggest is look around their website, social media, and for 3rd party reviews.  It’ll help you get an inside look at what the park truly looks like and how it works.

Here at Boundless Adventures our parks are built and maintained to ACCT standards (Association of Challenge Course Technology), the industry oversight body in the U.S. The Park is inspected daily by our staff, and annually by an ACCT certified inspector and a licensed arborist.

While each state may have different rules and regulations, each park should be able to effortlessly tell you all about the safety items they have in place.

Dress For The Occasion

One of the best ways to have the best zipline experience is dressing well. Open-toed shoes are prohibited, so be sure to wear sturdy sneakers.

For your clothes, it’s best to wear athletic wear. Plan to wear shorts that are longer so the harness doesn’t irritate your skin. If it’s chilly or rainy, opt for long johns and a fleece or down jacket.

We’ve written an extensive guide here if you want more insight.

Take A Breath And Enjoy The View

In your lifetime, how many opportunities are you going to have to go to an adventure park? Enjoy it while you’re there!

Instead of focusing on your fear of heights, take in the breathtaking scenery around you. No matter which of our locations you’re ziplining (Purchase, NY, Kenosha, WI, or Berlin, MA), you won’t be disappointed.

You’ll also be able to look back on the experience and be proud that you faced your fears and had an awesome time doing it.

Best Ziplining Tips

Going to a zipline or adventure park for the first time can stir up some nervousness. Hopefully, our best ziplining tips have helped ease some of that fear. If you ask us, taking a chance on a zipline park is well worth it!

If you’re in the NY, WI, or MA areas, we’d love to give you an inside look at what being #Boundless means.

We’ll see you in the trees!

While we run one of the premier parks in NY, MA and WI, we know that you’ll have an exhilarating experience at most parks across the globe.

With the rise in popularity, you may be wondering what you can do at an adventure park near me?

Read on to learn about the thrilling activities that you can take part in when you visit an adventure park!

Ziplining

Ziplining is an adrenaline-filled activity that you can do at many adventure parks.

When you zipline through an adventure park, an employee will first hook you up to a full-body harness. The harness then connects to a safety line that stays on for the entire experience.

As you work through your course, you will encounter different ziplines, views and heights. If the idea of zipping through the trees makes you nervous, have no fear! You’re safely secured and you’ll have an incredible story to talk about later on!

We know that everyone can’t be an adventure park or zipline expert, which is why ziplining comes in different levels of difficulty. If you are a little wary or still learning, you can ask about courses that may be a better fit for you and your group.

Aerial Adventures

With aerial adventure courses compiled of ziplines, swings and climbing elements, you’ll wonder how you missed this aerial adventure in the past.

Across our NY, MA and WI parks we have over 300 rope bridges, 60 ziplines and thousands of 5-star reviews.  We don’t want to tell you that you’ve found the ultimate aerial adventure park near you, but….you’ve found it.

While everyone loves different elements of adventure parks, there’s one thing we’ve found to be consistent, everyone agrees it was the… #BestDayEver

High Ropes / Obstacle Courses

Obstacle courses are the heart of adventure courses. Courses have a mix of ladders, bridges, zip lines, and elements that roll.

When you arrive at an adventure course, you will get to choose the level, of course, you want to try out.  Technically, a high ropes course is a course where a series of obstacles are hung between trees. We think of it more as a challenge in the trees that makes you work for every zipline, platform, rope swing and more.

Across our NY, MA and WI parks each high ropes course contains 10-14 obstacles that provide a unique physical and mental exercise.

Group Activities

One of the best parts of an adventure course is enjoying them with others! When you visit an adventure park course, you’ll take part in activities that foster team building and facing your fears.

Adventure parks are great for all types of events. Your kids will have a blast trying out the easier courses at an adventure park birthday party.

Are you looking for a great team-building activity? Bring your corporate or school group to an adventure park and let them learn the ropes together.

Nothing but Fun at an Adventure Park Near Me

If you are seeking a new type of experience, you won’t be disappointed if you decide on an adventure park.

If you are asking yourself, “where can I find an adventure park near me,” and live in the New York, Massachusetts, or Wisconsin area, look no further! Boundless Adventure is home to the safest and most fun adventure park around!

Where Are the Best Places to Zipline? A Guide

Thursday, February 17th, 2022

When it comes to picking the absolute best places to zipline, it’s an impossible task.

We’ll always make the argument that Boundless Adventures is the answer.  But for some of you, traveling to our NY, MA or WI parks may not be feasible.  In those cases, we’d consider where you are located or traveling to on vacation (Hint: We offer 3 killer options below that span the globe).

With the explosion of outdoor adventure parks and ziplining over the past few years, we’ve been able to build incredible relationships with our communities.

Join us as we explore what some of these incredible places to zipline have to offer you and your families.

Ziplining in Berlin, MA

Our amazing Berlin Boundless Adventures Park is located a 10-minute drive from Metro West and we’re only 45 minutes from Boston.

Once you arrive, you’re greeted by towering trees and the smell of fresh air. This almost feels like the calm before the storm. Because in a short time, you’re going to be screaming with excitement!

There are courses here to suit beginners, experts, or anyone in-between. At our pick for best place to zipline in Massachusetts, we’ve developed this 6-acre park with 9 courses and nearly 20 ziplines (and other fun surprises) to share our love of the great outdoors.  With all of that and more, you will never get bored here.

Ziplining in Purchase, NY

In under an hour’s drive from New York City, you can swap the highrise buildings for highrise trees.

One of the first things you’ll notice is how much of the great outdoors you can truly see from here.  You’ll quickly learn that you’re nestled inside the Purchase, NY woods on our 6-acre park.  Here we operate 23 zipline courses that have already seen thousands of first-timers just like you.  Those outdoor adventurers continue to tell us that we’re the ultimate New York zipline park, and we couldn’t be more flattered.

As you make your way through each obstacle, your strength and balance are both tested.  At the end of your trip we promise you’ll leave with a new appreciation for the sights, a few stories to tell your friends and some incredible memories.

Ziplining in Kenosha, WI

Kenosha’s best zip line park is located deep inside Bristol Woods Park. Just a short 45-minute drive from Chicago, you’ll be able to immerse yourself in the great outdoors.

The 200-acre park is quiet, peaceful, and has lots of walking trails to enjoy nature. But the adventure park has fun, adrenaline, and countless ziplines and nets!

You can fly through the sky on one of six zipline courses containing 20 ziplines!  It’s the perfect place to enjoy the serenity of the great outdoors.

To be honest, the only negative thing about this unique experience is having to leave at the end of the day!
