General Manager Job Description
The General Park Manager is the most senior manager on site with the ultimate responsibility for overall park operations including hiring, scheduling, safety, risk management, making sure that all course, facility and grounds maintenance is performed by appropriately trained personnel. and customer satisfaction. The General Park Manager is a strong leader with a personal commitment to safety, professionalism, excellent customer service and appropriate physical fitness.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Course Operations
- Oversee maintenance of facilities, grounds and equipment, including maintenance of course elements.
- Set high standards for safety, risk management, and facilitation for the courses; aligned with the latest practices according to ACCT guidelines
- Responsible for documentation of equipment usage and repair, inspections as well as staff and customer incident reporting.
- Responsible for the staff hiring, training (all course facilitation and rescues), supervision, evaluation, coaching, and scheduling
- Lead seasonal professional development training as needed or requested.
- Oversee the implementation of up-to-date Standard Operating Procedures and Local Operating Procedures.
- Coordinate inspections, significant repairs, and large installations with an appropriate vendor, as directed
- Perform any necessary course rescues along with staff
Business Operations
- Serve as a primary point of contact for corporate staff and local community relations
- Provide support and feedback to supervisors, monitors, harnessers, and hosts as required
- Maintain a budget (approved by corporate management) and make necessary purchases.
- Provide staff evaluations to ensure consistency with programmatic and safety standards
- Schedule staff
- Aid hosts in customer registration and sales operations.
- Maintain the product Inventory and replenish as needed.
- Develop professional and courteous relationships with customers and employees to enhance Boundless Adventure’s reputation and client satisfaction.
Off Season/Shoulder Season Job Duties
- Course maintenance
- Perform community outreach to develop partnerships and programming opportunities
- Assist corporate office with group outreach efforts, customer email and phone correspondence
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Safety and Supervision: Responsible for the safety of self, staff, and participants. Uses good judgment while making independent decisions regarding all facets of the safe and effective use of the course.
- Leadership and Planning: Must be able to work independently, be self-motivated, and be skilled with the empowerment of others. Able to deal calmly with stressful situations and people.
- Physical: Boundless Adventures is an outdoor, adventure-orientated setting. Therefore, the Park Manager should have the ability to perform their required duties for extended periods of time while exposed to adverse weather conditions and rough terrain. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills are required. Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to both participants and other staff members. Ability to relate and work with diverse populations of participants.
- Teamwork: Team-oriented and dedicated to the goals set forth by Boundless Adventure’s management. Work as a valuable team member with others in scheduling, facilitating, and operating aerial adventure park and team building activities.
- Dependability: Response to requests in a timely manner. Is reliable when scheduled. Conducts needs assessments, develops program plans, and communicates to staff in a timely manner. Has reliable transportation to and from the site. Maintains a commitment to the success of the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree
- Current CPR, AED, and First Aid Certifications (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Ability to work and manage multiple projects at once
- Computer Skills: Microsoft Suite, google applications, and social media (Instagram and Facebook)

SCHEDULE
- Boundless Adventures is open seven days per week during June through August (Peak Season). The manager should expect to work 6 days per week on average, with a 10 hour shift, or 55-65 hours/week.
- During the shoulder season (April, May, September, October) the manager should expect to work 40 hours/week, most heavily on weekends.
- Between November and March the manager is expected to take their 3 weeks of vacation and work on average 20 hours/week.
